She eventually ended up becoming the executive chef at Butter. Guarnaschelli has appeared on the Food Network's Iron Chef America where she competed against Cat Cora in the Farmers Market Battle of 2007. She has since appeared as one of the judges on the show and was a contestant in The Next Iron Chef season four, where she finished third place finisher. The episode also featured her for Food Network's Food Network Challenge Ultimate Thanksgiving Feast episode and was eliminated in the challenge. The position was made sous chef for Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian following the fourth episode on The Next Iron Chef. In 2008 she became the host of The Food Network's The Cooking Loft with Alex Guarnaschelli where she mentors the students in a small class in the art of teaching them to reinvent classic dishes.
